My name is Sylvia Froese and I started working as a Technology Teacher/Facilitator at East Selkirk Middle School 2 months ago. I have been working with computers in many career areas: teaching Computer Science/Computer Applications to high school students, Microsoft Office to Adults, helpdesk in Agriculture companies, Internet technical support and a few months ago I completed my web design certificate.
A few ICT goals I have are:
-Show the teachers to teach students to create web pages for research projects.
-To train teachers how to use the class set of wireless laptops for student assignments and projects.
-train teachers to use Smartboards in new ways
-set up and furnish the new Lego Mindstorms Robotics lab at ESMS
-use Wikispaces as a learning tool. journal of a book they are reading. give comments of their readings.
Free Private Wikis for Teachers (see link below) and they also do Bulk Account Creation if you email them to them as they show on the link below. They recommend that you use your school as an identifier in creating the student usernames. For eg. esms-sfroese for an East Selkirk Middle School Wiki account.
